Bar. Igwenyi Iheakolam Obasi, Esq. is a native of Okposi, in Ohazara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He is a trained lawyer and administrator. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political and Administrative Studies from the University of Port-Harcourt in 1992, and after serving his fatherland with the Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited (SPDC), Warri, his passion for the legal profession led him to Abia State University, Uturu, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Degree in 1999. He was called to the Nigerian Bar on 23rd January 2001.

He did his pupillage with IGWENYI IGWENYI CHAMBERS, Aba, Abia State, and also had a brief stint with ZAKARI SOGFAR & CO, Abuja. He joined the Federal Judicial Service Commission in 2004 as a Legal Officer and is currently a Deputy Director (Legal Services) and the Acting Head of Department of Legal Services.

He is the initiator and co-author of the book titled: 'The Woman I Know' — A Biography of Mrs. Bilkisu Abdulmalik Bashir (OON), the Pioneer Secretary of the National Judicial Council (NJC) and the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC).

He has attended numerous local and international training programmes in the United Kingdom, United States of America, France, South Africa, Turkey, UAE, and several African countries. He believes that our society will be better where equity, justice and fairness prevail regardless of tribe or creed, and that hard work, character and dedication to duty lead to success and prosperity. He is happily married and blessed with children.
