The Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) is a constitutional body established to support the independence, integrity, and effective administration of the Federal Judiciary of Nigeria. As one of the fourteen(14) Federal Executive Bodies under Section 153(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), it plays a crucial role in nominating judicial officers and managing judicial staff.

Its origins date to the 1979 Constitution, which created a Federal Judicial Service Commission chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, with the President of the Federal Court of Appeal, the Attorney-General of the Federation, and other distinguished members. The earlier Federal Judicial Service Committee was dissolved in 1988 during military rule. Following the return to democracy in 1999, the present Commission was reconstituted to safeguard judicial independence and protect appointment and disciplinary processes.

Its headquarters is located within the Supreme Court Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja. The Commission also operates Examination Centres in Lekki, Lagos and GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
