Nnamonso Ekanem, SAN was born on the 2nd of April 1958. He hails from Akwa-Ibom State and is happily married. He possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife in 1979 and a Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He also possesses a Certificate in Maritime Law from the Institute of Maritime Law, University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
In 1991, the Chief Justice of Nigeria appointed Nnamonso Ekanem into the Notary Public, and in 2016 he became a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
During the trajectory of his career, he held the following positions: Vice Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Kaduna Branch (1988–1990); Member, National Executive of the Nigeria Bar Association (2004–2020); Chairman, NBA Disciplinary Committee (North-West) (2014–2018); Chairman, NBA Kaduna Branch Electoral Committee (2012); and Council Member, Legal Aid Council (2008–2012).
Nnamonso Ekanem, SAN was appointed as a Member of the Federal Judicial Service Commission on the 21st of February 2022 by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
