Mr. Akinwumi Aina, FNIM, MCIPM is the Director of Administration at the Federal Judicial Service Commission. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy (Second Class Upper) and an MPA, and is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management (FNIM) and Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (MCIPM). He is a seasoned administrator with over two decades of distinguished service, known for exemplary leadership, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in public service administration.

Department Overview

The Department of Administration is one of the departments in the Federal Judicial Service Commission. The department is charged with the coordination of the internal administration of the Commission. At present, there are seven (7) units under the department, each with defined schedules of duties.

Units

Appointment and Promotion Unit — Processing of briefs and antecedents of senior staff due for promotion; conducting senior staff confirmation examinations; processing applications for conversion, upgrading and advancement examinations; processing contract appointments; verification of certificates and statements of results; handling disciplinary matters of senior staff of the Commission

Welfare Unit — Processing staff claims from Group Personal Accident Assurance and renewal of Group Life Assurance; recommending welfare packages during festive periods; handling social events (birth, wedding, death); ensuring staff registration with NHIA

Registry Unit — Processing and keeping of records; maintenance of personnel records; receiving, processing, classifying and dispatching of mails; updating of nominal roll of the Commission; handling leave matters of staff

Transport Unit — Coordinating movements of Commission vehicles; ensuring maintenance and insurance of Commission fleet; supervision of fueling and deployment of Drivers

Maintenance Unit — Maintenance of office buildings; supervision of Facility Managers; payment of utility bills (electricity and water); supervision of general maintenance of office premises

Variation Unit — Raising of variation advice for newly recruited staff; raising variation advice for promoted, upgraded or advanced staff; raising variation advice in line with Annual Incremental dates

Junior Staff Unit — Processing applications for appointment of Junior Staff; coordinating confirmation examinations for staff on Grade Levels 03 and 04; handling contract and disciplinary matters of junior staff; handling quarterly returns of junior staff appointments of the Federal Courts
