Department Overview

The ultimate aim of the Training and Development Department is to add value to human resources. The Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) therefore makes training and development of its employees a continuous activity.

The Training and Development Department is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Commission's human capital development initiatives. The department ensures the continuous development of staff through structured training, capacity-building and professional development programmes, designed to enhance competence, improve performance, and promote excellence in service delivery in accordance with global best practices.

The Department also facilitates staff career development and progression by promoting continuous learning and encouraging the acquisition of relevant academic and professional qualifications that support the Commission's strategic objectives and align with its vision, mission, and core values.

As the focal point for capacity development within the Commission, the Department conducts periodic Training Needs Assessments (TNAs) to identify knowledge, skills, and competency gaps across all cadres of staff. Based on the findings, it designs, coordinates, and evaluates targeted learning interventions that strengthen institutional capacity, enhance workforce productivity, and equip staff with the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to effectively discharge the Commission's mandate.
