Mon, 15 Sep 2025

The Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC), through its Training and Development Department, successfully organised a two-day Capacity Building and Professional Development Workshop for senior administrative and registry staff drawn from the federal courts.

The workshop, held at the Commission Headquarters, Supreme Court Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja, brought together participants from the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Court of Appeal, Federal High Court, and National Industrial Court.

Themed "Strengthening Institutional Capacity for a Modern Federal Judiciary", the workshop featured sessions on Public Financial Management and Accountability, Modern Records and Case Management Systems, Digital Transformation in Court Administration, and Leadership and Performance Management in the Public Sector.

The Executive Secretary, Mrs. Halimatu Abdullahi Turaki, LB, FCIArb, in her opening remarks, emphasised that the Commission is committed to continuous investment in the human capital of the Federal Judiciary. She noted that an efficient and well-trained administrative workforce is as critical to justice delivery as the judicial officers themselves.

Resource persons drawn from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, and senior practitioners in information technology facilitated the sessions.

Certificates of participation were presented to all attendees at the closing ceremony. The Commission plans to make the workshop a quarterly event across its examination centres in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
