Alhaji Ayinla Olomada, OON, was born in Ilorin Kwara State on the19thof November, 1936. At the age of 8, he was enrolled into Pakata Elementary School, in Pakata, Ilorin (now L.S.B. Primary School). He was there as a pupil between 1944 and 1947, from where he proceeded to Middle School, Ilorin (now Government Secondary School), from 1948-1950, before he proceeded to Barewa College, Zaria in 1951 and graduated in 1956.
On 3rd January, 1957, he was employed as a Local Government Supervisor in the Ilorin Native Authority. In 1960 he was Assistant Executive Officer (General Duties) in the Northern Nigeria Public Service, Kaduna. He was between 1960 and 1961, at the Institute of Public Administration, Zaria (Ahmadu Bello University, Kongo Campus). In 1965, he was appointed Administrative Officer IV in the Federal Public Service.
The patriotic and zealous Olomada was between 1973 and 1974 at the Institute of Administration,University of Ife, (Ibadan Campus) to receive further administrative training, and between August and December, 1976 he was at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo, Badagry and Royal College of Public Administration, London to prepare him more, for the promising future ahead. On 5th May, 1980 he became Permanent Secretary in the Kwara State public service. He voluntarily retired as Director General on 31st December, 1991.
Imbued by a deep sense of patriotism and insatiable desire to serve his fatherland, Alhaji Olomoda ventured into politics, where he was elected as a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 5th December, 1992 – 19th November, 1993. He left an indelible mark of superlative representation of his people and the nation in general.
He became a Member of the Federal Judicial Service Commission from 2007 to 2012 and re-appointed for a second term in 2012. He was conferred with the prestigious award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on 14th November, 20011. He is married, and blessed with ten(10) children.
